How to prevent heart attack? – hurriyet.com.tr

Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist Prof. made statements about situations that may cause a heart attack. Dr. Yavuz Beşoğul explains how to approach patients showing heart attack symptoms.
It is actually interesting, but it is one of the questions most asked by young people. Under the stresses of our age (such as exams, job search, financial difficulties, family pressure), 16-25 year olds are afraid of all types of arm numbness and chest pain, interpreting them as signs of a heart attack, and as a result, heart palpitations occur. Our young people, who are actually quite healthy, should be informed about this.

Not every chest pain or left arm numbness is a sign of a heart attack. If we briefly explain what needs to be known to evaluate it as a heart attack;

  • – Palpitations, shortness of breath,

WHEN THESE SYMPTOMS START, THE FIRST THINGS THE PATIENT AND THOSE WHO ARE RELATES SHOULD DO ARE;

  • -Immediately kneel down and sit where he is,
  • – Taking deep breaths and coughing frequently,
  • – Taking an aspirin in the mouth and chewing it,
  • – Apply to the nearest hospital or call 112,
  • – Evacuate the environment and use air conditioning, etc., if available, to ensure breathing. To be able to put it across the ventilation.
  • – If the patient loses consciousness and a very fast and very weak pulse is taken by hand, the airway should be opened by pulling out the tongue with a spoon and a quick punch to the left side of the chest can start the heart, which is about to stop.

Patients with advanced diabetes may have a heart attack without feeling these symptoms.

These symptoms are much more severe and fatal in people who are young, have not done much sports, and have spent their lives sedentary, that is, sitting down, because the vessels feeding the heart are not well developed.

Exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy diet, and taking a low-dose aspirin every day for people over the age of 40 are the only ways to protect yourself. Diabetic patients should also have regular check-ups.
