I think the only example of the saying "A great person is one who becomes smaller when approached" is Prof. Dr. Yavuz Beşoğul. I met my teacher, who has zero ego as well as justified pride in his work, last year due to a certain heart valve disease. I found the teacher after long research. The technique he used - which is When the teacher, who is considered to be the pioneer of armpit surgery in Turkey and who made rebirth possible for many people with his experience, requested an examination, I knocked on his door and got examined. This is where I experienced the first shock, because I had lost the function of both of my heart valves for years and definitely both of them. While I knew it needed to be replaced, the teacher's words "No, only one valve will be replaced" validated my admiration for the teacher.
I have personally experienced the accuracy of the teacher who broke new ground in valve surgeries by entering from the armpit and performing the operation, the recovery process being faster compared to other types of operations, and the suggestions written everywhere that "the teacher takes one-on-one attention to his patient".
I had surgery on July 25th. The mitral valve was replaced with a small incision under the armpit. While I was in the hospital for only 5 days, I saw the teacher with me at many hours of the day. He did his job well, instilled confidence in the patient, and his personality as a moral bank increased my admiration for the teacher even more. I left the hospital on the 6th day. Patient psychology is, of course, a sensitive process. I did not have any problems during the recovery period. In the 3rd week, I could now drive my car and participate in social life. The benefit of such a surgery was that it connected me to life as soon as possible. I still have questions from the team. I can get information by sending it to Ms. İlkber.
Of course, there are many doctors around us who perform such surgeries. But Yavuz Hodja's trusting stance is very important. Even when we enter the hospital from the emergency room, the way the doctor and his team work shows an attitude that is completely opposite to the administrations that do not allow us to be examined without registering or paying the fee. I entered and left the hospital, I did not have to deal with any procedure. This situation gave me another shock. Well, we are used to the understanding of fee first, then service. One is of course stunned when they see such a different application.
Let's not forget Perfusionist Volkan teacher. He is an indispensable part of the team. He is a caring and communicative teacher.
I think that I say hello to life again, first with Allah, then with the magic hands of Yavuz Hodja, with Volkan Hodja and with Ms. İlkber. I climb the stairs that I have never been able to climb, and walk the roads that I have never been able to walk, as if I were taking away the anger of the years. With this new cover, a new page has opened in my life. In this new page, first Allah and then the master of his work. I consider myself lucky to have the involvement of my teacher Prof. Dr. Yavuz Beşoğul. How happy my country and us patients are to have a scientist like Yavuz teacher!
In short: Friends who are going to have heart surgery should not look for the solution in other hands. A person is born once and wants to live to the fullest. In this context, that beautiful, charismatic teacher who can help us properly must be Yavuz teacher. Before he is too late for years like me, his door should be knocked on and finally " One should say, "Well done, teacher."
I am especially grateful to him, my teacher Volkan, and Ms. İlkber. They are the heroes of my second spring. I am so happy that God compared me to them. I cannot thank them enough. May they live long!
