In cases where there is no response to antibiotic treatment, surgical intervention is possible. In some cases, direct surgical intervention is performed on the patient. Surgical intervention may be necessary to eliminate the infection in the heart and correct the structure inside the heart, to eliminate heart valve problems, in cases of severe heart failure due to endocarditis, clots and embolism. The timing of surgical intervention is very important.
